Dinner with a CEO!
My blog posting has been hit or miss lately, but now that I’ve downloaded the WordPress app to my phone, I hope that I can at least manage more posts, even if they’re very short. I am working on shifting the focus of Salmon at Seven from ALL FOOD, ALL THE TIME to Natural and Healthy Living. I’ll admit that much of my online time these days has been focused on building my business with Younique. I am literally SO EXCITED that I can’t stop talking about it, but I will try. I just HAVE to share this with you.
I got a real treat Saturday night when Younique’s CEO was in Anchorage and took ALL of the Younique Presenters who came out to dinner at a local restaurant (Sourdough Mining Company). 60 Ysisters in one room with a unifying love of makeup who all took the plunge and DARED to make our dreams a reality.
It was absolutely amazing to hear Derek Maxfield speak as to why he founded the company. He didn’t have to do it; he was ALREADY a millionaire. He spoke from the heart, and his story is amazing. To sum it up, he wanted to give women, starting with his sisters, a way to change their lives. For such a young company — just 18 months old! — to have already gained such momentum is almost unheard of. The products are amazing too; the best product is the opportunity, but I love that the cosmetics themselves are NATURALLY-BASED with ingredients that I can pronounce.
I launched my makeup empire unintentionally; I really just wanted the makeup and thought “Why not try my hand? The worst thing is that I get some AMAZING makeup for a great cost.” My December launch surpassed my wildest dreams, and it’s ONLY THE BEGINNING!
Attending the mini-conference/dinner Saturday, and seeing first-hand how lives had been changed in a very real and very financial way, was the most motivating way I could he spent the evening. The spark has lit beneath, and the fire is being kindled as we speak, and I would love to fan those flames with my friends, near and and far, bloggy buddy and real life pals. The best thing? We’re launching in the UK, Australia and New Zealand — and already are in Canada and the USA (to include all US addresses – Guam, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and APO addresses). The time is NOW!
